i was just wondering if they make a lot of money considering the fact that they hardly ever play.

they make minimum, which is dependent on how much years you have been in the NFL. rookies and 1st year has a minimum of $275,000. it increases about ~75,000 until the 8th year or longer where it stays $810,000

Let me ask you a question. as an up and coming freshman joining the football team you probably suspected you would be at the bottom of football food chain speaking? So yes the coach will look to the more talent players and normally these are the guys that have a year or two of experience and have been tested. It's not easy to be ignored it's in fact can be humiliating but you can't take this personally. You have enter a sport that will test you physically and mentally. If you wish to be a linebacker be prepared to be hit and to hit. What makes a player is practice and more practice. Building both strength and endurance and knowing the plays. You want to focus on your grades well stay in football and discipline yourself. Everything I said is what you call arm chair quarterbacking. Easy to say when your not the one on the field. My advise don't quit this year or next hang tough and opportunities will present themselves if your ready to play. Almost forgot football practice ends when the coach blows the whistle. Best to you

most 3rd string quarterbacks make around 1 mil to 250k.
you might think that's allot but if you think about it, even a 3rd string quarterback for a NFL team is hard to be.
one out of a thousands athletes actually become college players and than on top of that only the best of the college players make it to the NFL.
P.S. a 3rd quarterback make more than a doctor and lawyer because their are less of them and their harder to become
