My coworkers and I have seen so many beautiful couples have ugly babies that, when we see very good-looking people married, we say "Wow - those are going to be some ugly babies!"

no. all babies are not beautiful. i looked like a dwarfed albino michelin man. do you know what DNA is? well it is the determining factor of physique. yes i have seen the situations you speak of. let's be honest...unless a baby has above average amounts of hair, or HUGE blue/brown eyes or dimples or something like that, they are considered average or less. it's kinda like models. you see all the 'baby models' and they all have striking features. some babies don't have anything that really stands out. i can't say i've ever seen a truly ugly baby though. (although i think i would have rivaled an 'ugly' baby in 1981...) you grow and change. do you really think all beautiful people have beautiful babies? because if so, you need some life lessons kid.

Yep. Two really good-looking people I went to high school with had an ugly baby. I think she grew out of it, though. And no, it is certainly not necessary to say all babies are beautiful (personally, I think a great many of them resemble Alfred Hitchcock or Winston Churchill). It is, however, common courtesy to make the appropriate exclamations of how sweet, precious, whatever, said baby is. It's beyond rude to look at someone's brand new pride and joy and go, "DAMN, that's an ugly baby!"

That can happen. However, I like to enphasis that everybody is borned beautiful in the eyes of the beholder. Looks alone is only external. Don't forget that, to consider one beautiful its more than looks, its the personality, attitute towards life, etc.. sometimes its easier to allow a bookcover deceives you but once you've read the book, you'll realised a good storyline lies more than just the cover.

yes I have seen this.Its part of life.I hate when ppl think their baby is sooooo cute when it's not.But hey everyone has their own idea of what is cute.

I know this one girl who is totally gorgeous-one of the prettiest people that I know. Her parents look like groundhogs.
