Yes, it's considered a cuss word by many people. However, it's generally not as offensive as some other cuss words.

It depends the context: If you are talking about the place (heaven and hell) it is not. If you are telling people 'go to hell' or are saying 'what the hell?' then it is a cuss word. This also sort of depends how you're raised. If you never went to church your parents may be freaked out when you say 'hell' but it all depends.

Hell is not a curse word in itself. But it can certainly be used in a curse. Surely you've seen movies and read books where the evil wizard puts a curse on someone. Well, that is exactly what a curse word is only in the Judaeo/Christian Church you aren't asking a wizard to put a curse on someone you are asking God to. In other words if you ask God to damn someone (send them to Hell), then you are cursing and most religious people think it's a sin because you are not only expressing hatred for someone you are also using God's name in vain. Even non religious people often think cursing is crude and vulgar. Study and develop a good vocabulary and you can have the satisfaction of putting somebody down without their even realizing it.

Hell no. Who the hell would think there would be cuss words in the Bible. Oh, to hell with it all.

If it is used to describe the place or to use it as a describing word to compare something to the place that people got to when they don't go to heaven (this place is like hell or it was like hell), then no. If it is used in any other form (what the hell?), then it is.

Hmmm, well it all depends on how the word is used. lol And then again, all on how your raised.

I was told when I was younger it wasn't okay, unless we were reading it in literature. Nevertheless some people like to cuss to add flavor to there vocabulary..lol

It depends...so you are both right. Saying "Go to hell" is indeed cussing . Talking about Heaven and Hell is not bad.
