Ask her to make a list of 5-10 things she'd like to have for christmas. Also ask her to add something specific(next to the category) she may have seen in some store(Thats coz many a times guys are totally clueless about their gf's choice). Out of those buy her one or as many as you can afford! This way you just cant go wrong and will get her what she really likes and wants without the fear of her pretending to like it!lol. good luck!

Does your girlfriend collect anything? If she does then add something to her collection this Christmas. Go with your gut. What types of things does your girlfriend purchase for herself? Is she a "girly" girl? If so, perfume is always a safe and easy gift to purchase.

Are there any CD's or movies you know of she would like to have? That is a specific enough gift that she would like, if you know the right ones, and you won't have to guess whether or not she will like what kind of jewelry, clothes, perfume, or bath products you pick out.
