I kept asking how do you figured it ended? What I can not understand if the Afro-Americans here in the States are so anti-slavery why aren't they and you fighting slavery in the modern world? Is it all right to complain about what happened a 140 years ago but you won't take any steps to prevent from happening today?
You say you didn't know about modern slavery? Well, now you do, anyone who has had such a issue with slavery as the Afro-Americans should be studying the issue and organizing bans, boycotts and marches. Lets' start with the number two (2) area that being Chocolate, you should ensure that your family, friends and school boycott Chocolate that means candy, ice cream and hot chocolate, etc. The big companies have the power to make sure the Egyptians and others quit using slaves to gather the Coca Beans.
The number one (1) area is the sex trade, videos, prostitution and children. You cannot do much there but you could ensure the issue becomes publicized.
Number three (3) is Coffee and you should do the same thing as you should do with chocolate.
Number four (4) is drugs and it is even worse with this area (I believe they should be legalized; it worked in the Netherlands and would be a God sent to the Country) is that the profits are used to kill us.
Yes, I am against slavery are you? God Bless You and The Southern People.

I really don't know except from history.
It was kinda sad and also a good thing for the slaves to be freed. The sad part was they had no education, no home, because they were not allowed to read or even learn to read. They had to learn how to read in secret. They were stranded and totally ignored by the US citizens after the war. The whole incident was political and caused a Civil War. But, the end result now has turned out well for the most part. We are now united, well at least I feel that way.
The whites who owned slaves, should have been put into slavery, in my opinion. I am a white person and I feel ashamed of the white race for this.

Well, I know some Americans realized it was wrong, even though they participated in it. Lee gave his slaves freedom before the war started. But why did he have them in the first place?
The economic reality of the South was that they couldn't have large plantations and rich, lavish lifestyles without the slave labor. They were used to it, and it was hard for them to give up. But many like Lee, Jefferson etc. felt guilty about it. The war had to happen to break the cycle. I imagine many whites in the south felt despair at starting over, giving up their lifestyles, but strangely relieved that it was over because they knew what they were doing was wrong and felt some guilt but couldn't bring themselves to admit it. Maybe how some of us feel nowadays about shopping at Wal-Mart. Guilty...but it's so cheap we keep going. But if someone shut down all the Wal-Marts we'd be like...oh hell, now where can I get my cheap stuff, but strangely relieved of guilt.

You mean how we feel now? Where fine.
How we all felt back then? I would assume it'd be kind of akward, and thats where racism was really born.
