Im also a singer, and the night before an audition I had a strained voice too. The thing I learned in school was to drink hot water with a little of honey and water (Do not drink salt water! That will make it worse) Make sure you warm up alot too!

Good luck!

Drink lots of warm tea with honey and lemon. Also go to the store and pick up some L-Lysine tablets, and start taking them. They contain the essential elements to help your body heal from almost anything. Good luck, just try not to talk very much either. Hope this works for you.

don't speak at all....just relax the vocal chords, and when you go in for the audition, don't say that you lost your voice right away, because no one wants to hear an excuse for being bad. They will figure out that you lost your voice, and if you are good, they will keep you around until your voice is back.

Drunk fluids, water, lemon juice (as people were saying), hot tea, etc. Steam also helps settle your voice and clear it up, try taking a hot shower or bath. Do things to settle your voice.

I wish you the best of luck!

don't use it; give it a rest.
Drink room temp water. Lemon & honey will help your throat.
Sleep with a humidifier, as this will soothe your throat.
