teachers always get a bunch of junk from all their students, i always wonder what they do with it...i'm sure that some of it gets used, but most of it goes somewhere. be thoughtful, what have you noticed about this teacher that he/she really likes? why are you considering getting them a gift, do you really like them? what do you really like about them? get them something that reflects that. is there something that they always seem to have a need for? maybe it won't be something personal, but something you have noticed that they're always missing in the classroom!

You can get some figurines, candles or chocolates or an insulated coffee mug. Most of these things are available at Walgreens.

You could get them a nice candle. Most are no more than 10 dollars.

Get them something that they can use. A gift certificate to a local book store is always nice.
