Yes - we have a paper & card recycling collection every other week where we live - they give us a dedicated bin.
I believe some schools / charities will take old cards off you, somehow they turn them into funds - worth checking out if you don't want to just chuck them in the rubbish!

I do!! after I actually have run out of Christmas playing cards to apply i flow and purchase some and that twelve months I deliver 'perfect' ones and then the subsequent twelve months I commence all yet again. I actually have ended up paying for and sending 'perfect' playing cards about once each and every 3 years for a at the same time as now. the different bit (that my buddies have written on) i exploit for paying for lists, scrap paper and so on and so on. that is a effective idea recycling stuff yet I favor to do my personal little bit of recycling!! I actually have in effortless words merely signed as a lot as this (searching for some bedroom furniture) it truly is fairly sturdy isn't it?

You can make great looking new cards with them. Cut out an element from the card and mount it on a slightly larger piece of card of a complementary colour or maybe a metallic self adhesive sheet.. Stick to the front of a card blank add a peel off greeting and maybe a little glitter. You can write directly inside the card or print an insert with a greeting customised for the recipient.
The background mount is the secret to making the card look special unlike the awful ones with a piece of old card stuck directly to the new one.

I have a couple of postage boxes with lids that I have covered with Christmas cards and I keep my Christmas decoration in these, they look really good. I used a round biscuit cutter to trace around on the nicest parts of cards and cut out circles all the same size for one box and stuck them overlapping all over this box and them covered it with clear contact to keep it nice. The other one I just trimmed the best bits using straight lines, squares and rectangles and covered the second box and covered with clear contact also. All the left over bits went to be recycled in the usual way.

I save my cards from one year so that I know who sent me a card so I send them one back the next yr. After I write out my cards, I tear off the front part of the card and save them in a box. Been doing this since 1992 when I got married. I am crafty and one of these years I'll do something with them!
