I learned that hydrofluoroalkanes have a short form of HFA but on wikipedia, on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerosol_spray#Propellant there are reference to 2 HFA's. When I go to their page, their name is HFC something. Does anyone know whats with that ?

HFA: hydrofluoroalkanes, HFC: hydrofluorocarbons. Absolutely the exact same thing, now with twice the acronyms for extra confusion power.
