yes it is normal for your obgyn to wait until your 12 weeks. that is when they can see the baby and hear the heart beat. Any time before that would be a waste unless your having complications, then you should call right away.

Yes this is routine. The reason that they make you wait till 12 weeks is because unfortunately, a great number of pregnancies don't make it that far. 12 weeks is equivalent to 3 months. Usually, if you make it to 3 months then it is considered a viable pregnancy and care can begin. If you read up on early pregnancy, you will see that if a woman makes it to 3 months then it is less likely that she will miscarry in regard to early fetal development. After 3 months you become less at risk as far as the fetal development then it becomes a situation of your body make up and how well you can carry the baby. Congrats on your baby!!! I had my first 3 months ago and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me ( ttc for 10 years)

Yes most OB/GYN will not see you until you are 12 wks. That is normal. My daughter's first visit was the same. Don't worry enjoy this time. Good Luck

I am always seen at about 8 wks. I think 12 wks is really late for a first appt. Call and ask the OB about it.

Yeah that's very normal. There isn't too much that they can do till then. You can't even hear the heart beat till around 10 weeks. Don't trip, that's very normal. It's ok

There really isn't much the OB would have for you at this stage of pregnancy. Everything they would check, your GP has already checked.
