The NFL doesnt want to do anything to tarnish its rep. They made the rule in an attempt to even the playing field (lack of black coaches in the league). If you think that's interesting you should see last weeks infl player interview (I forgot who it was) He actually said the reason he sucked was because he had a white head coach. Dan Marino was iffed off.

I believe it is because 60% of the players are black, but only about 10% of the coaches were black at the time the rule was instituted. I don't really believe it is necessary. The talent will show itself. 15 years ago there were very few black QB's, look at it now, and they don't force teams to draft black QB's

It was to appease Jesse Jackson if you want to get right to the point. Now if you want the NFL's claim it is so they can get more diversity. If they want a certain coach though that is the coach they are going to get. They will "interview" the Black man for the job simply to avoid getting in trouble.

Well look at it this way, there is a supermajority of black players vs. white players in the NFL (I don't believe their is a starting HB in the NFL that isn't black). And look at the guys like Lovey Smith and Marvin Lewis who have turned their teams from bottom of the sh*t list to NFL leaders. So why shouldn't teams have to look at black coaches when 90% of their roster is black

Well sweetheart in a lot of jobs you will apply for they make employers interview women? How bout that? See cause at one time no one wanted women to work outside the home, same way they did not want blacks to work. That was about, oh, 1950! Get a clue and a brain. By the way, you will meet the quota for employers but no one will hire your racist, lazy a@@!(it's big like that too, so I hear!).

Why don't you ask Lovey Smith...lowest paid coach in the NFL who is taken his team to the heights in play and respect. I think your question shows a lack of sense and sounds extremely prejudice...

it particularly is a physically powerful rule if used marvelous and the minority candidate exhibits a flair for the activity. i think there are a number of minority applicants who can do the activity and communities must be open to all opportunities by using fact the candidate may be a "diamond in the tough." in simple terms by using fact any candidate is interviewed it does no longer mean that one would get the activity. If the candidate is the terrific in flair, character, disposition and professionalism that candidate in spite of if a minority or no longer ought to get the activity.
