Oh, I can't choose just ONE favorite track for belly dance. Often my "favorite" is one I'm working on for my next solo performance. (at the moment I'm starting to work on a track by Turbo Tabla) I enjoy many tracks from "old school" style such as George Abdo. I have many CD's with Egyptian and Turkish pop. (yes, including Tarkan... of course... :) ) Of course, no belly dance music collection is complete without the Egyptian diva, Omme Kolsoum (one of various spellings).

If your looking for commercial then its gotta be shakira!!
Although coming from a Mediterranean background I've gotta say, Arabic, Greek and Turkish music is simply the best to bellydance to!!
Don't know the names of the songs or artists, but when you hear the beat the belly and hips naturally follow!!

You really want just one? Xtreme Shimmy by Jehan, but you might also like Dari by Zachary J. Mechlam, anything by George Abdo, Natacha Atlas, Light Rain. Gotta love the vintagy stuff.
Have fun, Samina

If you're really bellydancing, I suggest going to an authentic bellydancing site, or amazon, and ordering real bellydancing music. Not that you can't belly dance to, say, shakira... but there is music that was made specifically for the purpose of bellydancing. try www.maqam.com
