We've owned a Dyson for three years, and it hands down has provided the best value and performance of any other we've owned. Typically, we'd go through at least one normal vacuum cleaner a year, trying nearly all brands.

The Animal is absolutely fabulous. The animal hair attachment provides powerful release of animal hair and dirt from carpet and upholstery. It also shows great superiority in dust collection, as well.

Emptying the canister is painless. Several times a year I make sure I tap as much built up dust from the canister and even blow it out with a compressor (outside) but only because I'm a bit obsessive not because we'd lost suction.

It works extremely well on carpet and hard surfaces alike. Try a comparison at a store such as Sears and compare it to some of the newer models of mainstream vacuums that try to look like the Dyson; a hands-on demo will answer all your fears that you'd be throwing money away.

I clean houses. And 3 of my clients own a Dyson. I love them! 2 of them have the animal, the purple one and the other one has the yellow one. The purple one is by far the best. Well worth the price. The suction is great. It picks up everything. And you don't need any bags. I really like how the hose extends out and you can do a whole flight of stairs without carrying the vacuum with you. The Dyson is worth every Penny you spend on it. And it is also good on hard floors too.

imagine the vacuum that parent vacuums practice their vacuumlets about at the same time as they choose them to develop up good. that is a Dyson. that's like shifting right into a Rolls Royce, stepping on a Harley, listening to Jimi Hendrix - once you basically instinctively with the help of the sound and the feel that some thing is ideal. Dysons are captivating, obedient, dirt-eliminating machines. If cleanliness extremely is next to godliness, you may guess the angels have Dysons...

I also clean houses, I LOVE the Dyson. One of my customers bought me one, and I ran out and bought one for my house the very next day. Worth every penny. Love how it swivels around furniture, cutting down on the need to break back moving it. On another note, If you are considering any other brand I will say I hate the Oreck. No on board tools, the free small one you get with purchase is a joke. I alwys get shocked at the handle. Several of my customers have them and some days I come home feeling as though I've been through shock treatment!!

I've been thinking of getting one too, but the cost is something else. I will keep an eye on this question to see if any Dyson users answer it.
