I brought my car second hand and it has no manual with it. Yesturday above the handbrake light was the word hold in orange it didnt go off until i started it again. What is that mean??

mazda's in the early 90's had a hold feature on the automatic transmission that allowed you to start in 1 without it shifting up so you could "manually" shift the car up to 2, 3 (if applicable) and then drive. this was especially nice at the red light if you were trying for a good launch.

You may have to visit your local Mazda dealer or maybe an auto part store (Auto Zone, Advance Auto Napa etc.) could tell you what that means.
