I have a battery problem. Its leaking and I can't find out where it is comming from. My whindsheld fluid line has melted away, I took the battery out and nutralize the acid that was on the battery tray with baking soda and viniger. The battery cap is on and tight. Is there anything else I can do, or just get a new battery?

Problem (as you can't locate a leak) may well be over charging and causing it to boil over. This will force some fluid out the cap vents, thus burning windshield fluid line. You need to insert a volt meter across the battery terminals and start the motor. You should only get a reading of about 13.5 volts at idle and no more than 14.7 when you rev it up. If you are reading 18 volts (a common effect) then the alternator is bad. If that is the case, the battery may still be OK.

Once a battery leaks theres nothing left to do other then replace it. I replace at least 2 a day at work, and recomend probably 5 dayly. Replacing is the only option, the seals are broken away.

After replacing the battery, make sure it not over charging.
Could be a faulty voltage regulator like on older Fords causing the battery to boil over.

Nothing can be done for you're battery, so please take it to a NAPPA dealer or K-Mart they useually by old batteries and get rid of them properly. So you will have to get a new battery.
