if your pc came with a recovery disk use that. some time you have to make the disk your self . pc will give you instructions to make it just look for recovery disk. I have a hp desk top and if I press f10 button It will reformat my pc it will wipe every thing off and put it back to factory condition.
but different pc have different ways of doing things you should have had your xp disk when you bought it , if you did not you will probable have a recovery part ion on your pc , but you can reinstall xp or what every your os is , from the disk you should have had when you bought it hope this has helped you I am learning my self

should have come with a factory restore disk, and that will return it to new condition. Files that are deleted from a hard disk remain there until over written and will still be recoverable if you do not use correct software. google bcwipe which is free and will over write unused space on your disk making file recovery impossible.

It is easy. You take off a small panel on the bottom, One screw. Heres the trick. If it has 2 256MB modules, you have to remove them and add 1GB (either 2 512s or 1 1GB). If it has 1 512, you can add another one. Its PC133 Laptop memory. Its fairly standard for laptop memory. Kingston is good. Avoid PNY like a bad disease

If you have the XP disk, just do a complete fresh install.

load the disk, reboot, follow the instructions for a fresh install (yes it will wipe everything) but you'll have a clean machine.
