Sounds like you are using an oil based shadow. Even powders can be made with oil in them, just like creme and liquid makeup.
Change the type of shadow you are using, and it should help with the problem. While you're at it, look for an oil absorbing base to apply under the eye shadow to help keep natural oils down, and that greasy feel from coming back.

From your description, it sounds like you have rather active oil glands. Eye shadow from my own personal experience is only slightly greasy feeling, not truly greasy(excuse me, oily). I'd recommend a good make-up consultant if I knew one. Unfortunately, I don't. When all else fails, see if the Avon or Mary-Kay reps know anything that might help. Failing that, your family doctor should know something for oily skin.

Use bare minerals eye shadow. My lids get really oily and this is the only eye shadow that works for me.

Its not the eyeshadow hun...you just have oily skin. Here's a tip...use a little a concealer on your lid then set it with powder. I do it all the time... your eye makeup will not budge.
