We get our mail at the post office but have a person that delivers the newspaper every day so we leave a card with some cash in it... Sometimes if I do some baking, mini breads, candy etc I leave a little in the paper box...It is a nice gesture and the paper delivery person as well as the mailman has to go out and deliver no matter what the weather is so I feel they deserve a little thought at this time of the year....

Heck NO!
For one, they're not supposed to accept money.
For another, there's more than one mail person that serves the building.
And most importantly, and mail carrier who routinely puts mail on the filthy lobby FLOOR instead of in the mail holder (for overflow mail that doesn't fit in the boxes) does not deserve a tip.
But if you have a nice mail lady, there's no reason you shouldn't show your appreciation with a small gift, if you'd like.

I used to give some of my baked goods to the mail person.
Last year, I baked a big delicious cake for the trash guys. I put it on a plate that didn't have to be returned. I enclosed napkins and disposable plates.

Sometimes we just give them a nice card and some cash. Either that or we give them a gift certificate and card. Also, we give to our garbage men/women too.
