well after a somewhat prolonged and horrible period of intense pain and agony to the point of feeling like you are literally going to die, and hoping that the torture stops before you lose your mind, and wondering how your body can even remotely handle the pain that you are feeling, there is usually a doctor of sorts-- be it a midwife or obgyn--- hanging out between your legs and she tells you to push with all you have.... which isn't much at that point.

and then if wasn't bad enough there is a ring of fire that happens when the baby crowns at which point the pain and agony is even more intense and you seriously want to kill yourself, again wondering how you are even still alive after all this pain, you feel the baby decend as the ring of fire and contractions are more intense than ever. once the head is out there is some relief and the burning stops but you still have to push with contractions to eliminate the rest of the child from your vaginal cavity....

and then suddenly its over, the baby is out, the focus is off you. the vagina aches like hell, but the level of pain is so greatly diminished that you feel like you are on cloud nine, unfortunately you still have to birth your placenta (the protective sac for the baby inutero) but it doesn't hurt half as badly as you might anticipate.

and then you just a have a baby to deal with

thru mothers 'v' or if some complications, than thru caesarian which means the lower belly is cut open and baby is taken out.
