I was told by my artist NOT to use neosporin. A&D Ointment (for baby rashes) in a very thin layer will keep it moisturized & protected.

Use A and D ointment. Don't use vitamin e oil or cream. Just use the ointment until it starts to peel and then start using lotion. Your tattoo will not go away. If they were a good tattoo shop they should have told you all the information you need to know and supply the A and D ointment. That is what my tattoo artist does. The A and D ointment is in the baby section at the grocery store.

you need to clean it twice a day with very mild soap, pat dry, do not rub and when the scab forms, DO NOT pick at it. It will fall off on it's own. After cleansing the area, apply a thin layer of antibacterial gel, or baby oil, or vitamin E oil. You want to keep the area as clean and moisturized as possible. It won't ever go away, but if you pick that scab off, it will cause a discoloration. Trust me, I have a black panther on my ankle, and I picked off a tiny piece of the scab, and now my panther has one white spot! Be careful.

Do not use any ointments or lotions, either buy tattoo ghoo from the tatto shop or buy pure aloe Vera for it. Wash it daily but DO NOT soak it and don't pick at the scab

You should wash it gently with soap and water then pat it dry and cover it lightly with neosporing to prevent infection and speed healing. Keep it moist with the neosporin until it heals. It won't fade if you care for it properly now. After it begins to really heal, keep it from drying out with a good thick lotion until it is completely healed. If you don't it may itch while healing.
