That is your geography teacher's opinion. Nobody can really give you an honest answer to this question, because, it would just be an opinion. I personally, dont think any place on earth is the best place. Maybe heaven would be the best place. That is, if you beleive in heaven. Which I don't know if you do.

according to the UN
Norway is still the best country in the world to live in according to the annual Human Development Report produced by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

15/12/2006 ::
Each year, UNDP produces the Human Development Report, which ranks the countries of the world according to such factors as income, education and life expectancy. Norway is top of the list for the sixth year running.

The Norwegian Minister of International Development, Erik Solheim, is proud of Norway’s position at the top of the list, but said to the Norwegian daily newspaper Verdens Gang that: “We must be humble about how lucky we have been. And we must remember that those who have most also have most responsibility.”

This year’s report focuses on the global water crisis and the lack of proper sanitation in large parts of the world. It states that access to clean water is the key to achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals, which include the goal to halve poverty and eradicate hunger by 2015. The report traces the roots of the global water crisis to poverty, inequality and unequal power relationships.

I don't want to be mean but since you asked...
My cousin, that is Brazilian, is living for a period in the US, in Orlando, Florida. He wants to come back to Brazil as fast as possible. He says that the food is horrible, the women are mostly not beautiful, the country smells racism, there is almost no public transport, everything that is public is a piece of ****, very invidualist society...

Anyway, each person has his taste, it's not possible to meausure countries to decide which one is better. One may think that the US is the best country, others may not.

By the way, America is a continent.

I wouldn't say any one country is the "best". Every country has it's great things and it's really bad things.

America has a great music scene, a very lucrative movie industry, a positive "go get it" attitude and broad melting pot of nationalities and cultures but it also has McDonalds, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, reality TV, constant issesant commercials, George Bush etc... so you see the pedulum can swing both ways. America is a great place and a really sh*t place at the same time but so is every country.

The United States IS the best country in the world, but mighty countries have mighty problems. The USA is not perfect, but I would rather live here than just about anyplace else. Its home, and like a weird relative, no matter how strange it gets I still love it. If you really want to find out for yourself, live someplace else for a while.

The US has a lot of problems, including racism, intolerance, high crime rates and the current anti-intellectual political climate. I think Canada and most of the EU are safer and saner, plus they have nationalized health care.

Hopefully the US can turn things around before it gets too bad. As a nation we have a great deal of potential, but that potential has been wasted in recent years.

Life nessecities are best in US and UK. For example librarys,freeways, gyms,schools. Canada and Sweden got universal helthcare for evrybdy. Other countries lack the lifestyle we are used to, so it seems to us in America that we have the best country. For example, Italy doesn't, or at least i didn't see, any public cleaning system (like trash pickup). We are the strongest militarily speaking.

The US is a pretty good country to live in. There are many places in the US that are absolutely stunning. Every Country has one good quality that another doesn't have. So in a way every country has something that they should be proud of.

So it can be if you work hard and overlook some greediness and crime, but overall it could definitely be, if bush would be impeached. In some countries 8 ytears olds are addicted to porn(italy and other european countries)
