Hi there,
It would depend on some things. It is of course possible that you were pregnant but you don't say how late your period was. If you had totally missed your period and it was about time for your next period then it is possible that you had a miscarriage. If that were the case you would have noticed a great deal more bleeding and probably the passage of some significant clots and such. If you were only a week or so late you could miscarry and not really be able to tell.
Then again, to complicate things, you could still be pregnant. If this period that you mention was really only a bit of spotting you may still be pregnant.
Positive pregnancy tests are always accurate. If it says you are pregnant then you are (or were ) pregnant at that time.
If I were you I would see a doctor to find out just what is going on. That is the only way that you are going to know for sure.
Either way, if you are, or if you were pregnant, you need to see a doctor.
Take care of yourself.

Yes, it sounds like a chemical pregnancy....which is not even close to a miscarriage so you wouldnt feel the same effects as you would have if you did miscarry.
This is where the egg is fertilized but does not implant. When the egg is fertilized you automatically start producing the pregnancy hormone. Some women produce enough of it to get a positive test and even feel pregnancy symptoms. But since the egg doesnt implant your body flushes it out like a regular period. It doesnt mean anything was wrong with you or the baby, it just means the embryo was too slow in getting to your uterus to implant. It wont hinder future conception or mean that your going to have miscarriages later on. My fertility specialist told me that when your trying to get pregnant that up to 70% of your periods are actually chemical pregnancies and we dont know it because we start our cycle like normal.
I've had 2 chemical pregnancies, with each one I got a positive test and then started my period on time...the only reason I knew is because I'm a test-a-holic.

Some women can continue to get their periods while pregnant. You really should consult a doctor as you may still be pregnant. If you miscarried it wouldnt be anything like a period, you would have severe cramping as well as very heavy bleeding. Even if you did miscarry you still need to see a dr to make sure that everything came out, you can get really sick from not having all of the stuff come out.

Sounds like you may have had a chemical pregnancy.
Or have you tested again since and are you still getting positives?
It is possible to have your period while pregnant too....Good luck!
