My family says that all of the sexual offenders hunt down children on it! Is it true?

They are right, sort of. There are a lot of really bad people that try to take advantage of others almost everywhere. Please never give out anything like phone numbers or addresses. Lots of good experiences can happen on the web(Like this). Your parents are trying to keep you safe.

Some are, yes. It's true. But not all of them. As long as you don't give any personal info, your OK. It's not a problem. So you should go to MySpace if you want.

Yep, it's one way. I saw a news story where young girls are putting some very inappropriate pictures on there, and grown men are posing as teenagers, and eventually they meet. Use your imagination, things didn't end up well, some kids ended up dead. You have to be very, very, very careful about the information you give to strangers online. Your family is right to protect you.

yes it is, not only do they use myspace, they use chatrooms, xanga, facebook, etc. they are all over the internet.
