You have to think about what she likes..what does she want? Get her the latest great smelling perfume like Baby Phat, (if that's too pricey...go to JCPenny, Sears, a mall near you, and ask the clerk to help you find a great smelling scent without the costliness) How about a Decorated Christmas basket with different goodies such as perfume, shower gel, lipstick, cosmetics, magazines, ink pens, wallet-the ideas are endless, you know what she likes, just be creative (get cute, really frilly things)

It also depends on the price range, and how much you are spending on her gift. (If I knew that I could give better suggestions) CDS, DVDS, are great gift suggestions..get the newest, latest stuff), books..does she have hobbies? Get gifts around hobbies, a scrapbook to keep memories, a camera, there are a lot of great gift ideas.

It doesn't matter if she's obese or not.
If you buy her clothes & she takes it the wrong way then its her fault that she over-reacted.
You did the right thing and bought her something nice.
What about 2 movie vouchers in Gold Class? (approx $60)
From chocolate, to cute hair ribbons, sunglasses, cd's, dvd's etc
Depends what your budget is, if you don't want to spend too much go for a mini hamper and decorate it with cellophane and ribbons.
Head for the market for non-expensive items.
If she doesn't wear jewellery, buy some and encourage her to wear them.

If you really know your friend you should be able to think about alot of things your friend likes----that has nothing to do with her weight! Why are you guys friends? What kinds of things do you like to do together? What kinds of things do you talk about the most? How do you spend your time together? Thinking about questions like this should surely help you figure out more about your friends interests and things you share in common--

Do you have any shared music interests?

What do you like to do on a day off? Do you have any similiar art interests? read, sleep ( a cozy pillow might be nice?) listen to music( gift card to a music store or download tunes)

What about her room----does she have a color scheme or theme of some sort you could add something decorative to the room? special lamp----special pillow----special bulletin board??special storage thing----

Also some clothing types of things are not really related to size---like a cool scarf or some gloves or funny socks???

Does your friend have any pets-----

HOw about scrapbooking stuff---

how about fancy pens and pencils or stamping supplies etc----

maybe a jewelry making kit or ------

I think you need to better understand who your friend is as a person and stop thinking about her weight-----sounds like you might be inadvertently putting her down as someone who has less interests just because she is overweight-----overweight people are people like everyone else----

NOw I know----it would seem unkind to offer a gift like a bikini or something that might highlight the problems of being overweight---but there are lots of other options---

Good luck----sounds like you are trying to be sensitive

Is she a lover of books? Does she like to keep your nails groomed? Does she go to a beautician to get her hir done? You can't go wrong with a gift certificate for either of the above. She probably would love a foot massage! I know I would. Hope these subjections helped a bit.

Books? DVDs? CDs? A nice scarf/hat/gloves? A photo frame with a picture of the two of you?

Don't get her anything that involves size. Get her some perfume, body lotion, handbag, that kind of stuff.
