P&G can hire anyone they want. I'm betting that their marketing is also done chiefly thru an agency (or lots of agencies) instead of direct hire.

Marketing is tough to get into. Atter the dot-com bust, 6-figure Marketing VP types went unemployed for years in some cases. Perhaps that talent pool has now been absorbed, but it must still be tight.

The way to get into a tight field is to WORK FOR FREE. If you're in college, the fancy "Latin" term for slavery is "Internship." You need to find a marketing dept someplace, and offer to work for free. You might also consider an internship with a TV or radio station.

College -- yeah, gotta have a college degree if you want to work for a large corporation. Why? I dunno, and they don't know either, but that's the rules. However, I'm willing to bet that any marketing agency would take a primate from Borneo if the person had great ideas.
