OMG...are you serious!! This one little external 'roid will never go away? Won't that vein ever shrink back down??

It won't go away without treatment. I know it's embarrassing, but try not to worry about it. Go ahead and ask your doctor or gynecologist. They will be very matter of fact about it and they won't say anything that will embarrass you. It's just another body part to them that they see or talk about all day. Seriously...hemorrhoids are VERY common.

It will eventually go away. Only in rare cases will that little external thing not shrink back. In preganancy, too, it can stay out for the entire pregnancy.
The pain/discomfort tends to last about 4 days, if you are treating it (ice, hemmorrhoid cream).
Although they are embarrassing and uncomfortable, they are not dangerous.
