It will create jobs. Depending on the size of the hotel, mine is 63 rooms and employes 20 people off season, up to 30 during the busy season. It will generate great tax revenue for the city. The property taxes I pay are outrageous, but they go to support the city, fire departments, schools, ect. More hotels mean more rooms available for travelers. More rooms means that more people can come to town. Tourists spend their money all over. In stores, restaurants, parking garages, parks, and bars. That increases the money flowing within the city. More money means bigger businesses, economic growth and more jobs. The bigger the hotel, the bigger the benefit overall. More jobs, more tax revenue, more tourists. Hope this helps.

The first and most obvious response is that a hotel will generate employment, but much of this employment is simply general labor. There are a few skilled jobs -- accounting, reservations clerks, chef, (if the hotel has a dining room) but much of the rest, cleaners, table servers, room servicers, janitors, grounds maintenance, etc. is non-specialized labor. If the hotel is located in a business area, it can offer facilities for conferences and bring in business from areas other than tourism. And in some cases, hotels can apply for gambling licenses and liquor licenses and gain revenue from those sources. However, they bring concomitant problems with them and often the financial advantage is more than offset by the community and legal problems that accompany them.

Revenue. A hotel will bring jobs. If it is a major chain, that means the city is growing/expanding which in turn will bring more restaurants, schools, malls, all of which brings employment. New hotel will perhaps bring bar, nightclub, restaurant, banquet hall, etc. something new and exciting for a city.
For the locals, a place to hold reunions, wedding receptions, in case of power outages~ you can go to the hotel (they usually have generators.
