I had a miscarriage 4 months ago. I am taking the pill. Has anyone had this before, and does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Do you think it is connected to my miscarriage?

No, it's not likely related to the miscarriage. The pill works strictly to control the hormonal cycle of your body, and prevents ovulation by working on the estrogen/progesterone levels in the body. In your case, it evidently isn't providing a level above that your body produces naturally, and that's why you are seeing the breakthrough bleeding. You need to revisit the GYN and have your pills changed, because the ones you are taking are not working correctly and you may well not be protected from pregnancy either. There are several types on the market, with varying levels and balances of hormones, and your doctor is the only one who can decide which may be better for you. Normally they try the lower dosage, single hormone types first. Those don't always work for everyone, which is why there are all the others. Return to your doctor for a re-evaluation and a change of prescription.

Break through bleeding is normal to have while taking birth control. Since you had a miscarriage 4 months ago, I would see you OBGYN just to make sure everything is ok.

It might be connected to the miscarriage, and sometimes the pill can cause this in which case you need to change it. The most important thing is to speak to a doctor who will have more knowledge than any of us

Sounds like the hormone levels aren't enough tho suppress your own cycle.
Suggest you see your doc or fam plan clinic for advice and maybe a different pill.
Sorry about your miscarriage, been there done that several times. :-(

It could be from that. See your doc and tell them what's going on.
