how would i be able to increase the heat production from a lamp over a tray with aluminium foil on each 4 sides of the tray with simple house hold materials?

If the shiny side of the Al foil is toward the light it will reflect the heat. If the foil non shiny side is used it will not reflect as much. If you have a way to darken the foil it will hold more heat. You cant really increase the heat production, but you can increase the absorption and the holding of the heat.

Surround the candle or other lamp with the aluminum foil. The flame will heat the tray and the surrounding foil. The metal tray and foil will absorb heat and radiate it out.
