Why are you exchanging gifts at all? There is no law that says you have to get your boss anything. So don't.
A nice card, and some cookies should be the end of it.

There is nothing wrong with being nice to her; but don't go overboard; a nice card would be sufficient.
GOING FORWARD...maintain a safe, professional-personal distance from her...because...she's poisonous!
She does not need to know your personal business and you should not tell her or anybody else ANYTHING!!!.
GOING FORWARD...document the abuses: names, dates, times, etc.
If and when the abuse gets to be unbearable, see an attorney and sue her for creating a hostile work-environment AND sue the company for allowing her to create a hostile work environment.
Continue to do your job and be vigilant...about everything!

Just do the right thing. No matter how hard, we need more people like that. Instead of saying no way. If more people did that imagine what the world would be like. Dont stoop to her level, your better than that, show her your not going to act like she does. Your the better person

You can't win friends by giving gifts. If she is a ***** then she will always remain a *****. Pry that she get promoted and goes elsewhere or car accidents are happening daily she might lucky some day.

Definitely just give her what you were originally planning. You could give her an expensive present and it still would not change how she will treat you. It will just make you look like a brwon-noser. What you bought her is fine.

no, as long as your getting your work done and getting paid, live with it. However, if it is really affecting you, gifts can't solve the problem. Try talking to her, maybe then things will get better.

Exchanging gifts is usually a sign of affection. If you feel no affection for this person then don't get her anything at all!

Christmas is about spreading Love and Good cheer, so you should give her what is in your heart. You should give out of love and not obligation.
