It might be possible just to pick it out of the carpet with a pair of tweezers (I assume you mean liquid latex watercolour masking fluid) unless there's a lot. The few small spills I've had with it seemed to respond quite well to tweezers, fingernails and warm water.

It's fairly sticky stuff as I recall!

You might also try white spirit or meths...

Most of the websites I found on it seem to agree that getting large quantities of it out of carpet is a losing battle though - sorry!

Use lighter fluid. Make sure you have adequate ventilation. Also check the fluid on a small spot away from view to make sure your carpet is colorfast.
