A sample of gas has a volume of 5.00L at 27oC. Assuming constant pressure, at what temperature will the volume become doubled?

I think the temp has to be in Kelvin not degrees, so you have to add 273 to the degrees c to get the initial temp to work with.
so you get T1 = 27 + 273 = 300K
T2 = 300 x (10/5) = 600K
which is (600-273) degrees C,
327 degrees C

V1/T1 = V2 /T2

5*(27+273)=10*x
x=150 degrees K

27 oC is 300 K. To double the volume at constant pressure we must double the absolute temperature. So the temperature is 600 K or 327 oC.

The right answer is (d).

i believe this is gay-lussacs(No-name) law, V1/T1=V2/T2

so its just a proportion (5.00/27)=(10.00/x) and just solve for x

Universal Gas Law:

(P1/V1)/T1 = (P2/V2)/T2

Simple algebra...

(P1/5L)/300K = (P2/V2)/300k

If P1 = P2 you can just make it 1 or any number you like!

you do the math!
