Last answer I heard on the news was contamination of lettuce before it ever left the farms. E-coli can't just be washed off of lettuce or leaf spinach because it "adheres" to it. The CDC ( Center for Disease Control" WHO ( World Health Org ) & Wikipedia all have great info. If you don't trust something don't eat it.

It was lettuce from California. And what does law enforcement have to do with it? This was a Food & Drug Administration problem and they found the source very quickly.

I heard that the cause of the Taco Bell poisonings was lettuce. The lettuce will problemly be okay to eat eventually.

Its either the grease in the meat.. I'm sure they use a cheap ground beef which would be around a 70% meat and 30% fat.. Or its the beans.. Try a bean burrito next time and see.. Or try a beef no bean burrito.. No sure what type of nachos you had and if it had beans in it.. Hope this helps..
