What I think of them is this:

They invented the automobile. For decades they built possibly the finest cars in the world. Then sometime towards the end of the 1980s something began to go terribly wrong. Competition came from Japan. Costs had to be cut. People began demanding a new design every 4 years. Fickle consumerism won out over an appreciation of evolutionary design.

Today Mercedes is a shadow of its former self. They are no longer unequaled. Audi and BMW often have nicer, better built cars in the same class and even the Koreans have better reliability than a new Benz. The W123 was probably the last extraordinary Benz. That and the G-wagen and previous SL.

NOTHING Mercedes builds today is built with the kind of precision craftsmanship and uncompromising eye for quality that made the company a legend in the industry and that is truly sad. They still make some fantastic cars of course, but the reliability and longevity and unflinching quality are gone. DaimlerBenz is just another car company now. They rest on their laurels and their name now and the ghosts of their noble past. The end.

i have had so many mercedes because they save lives. i have gotten in 3 wrecks (all not my fault). i have had a brand new sl and flipped it 7 times with the top down and hit 3 trees and landed where the roof should have been and walked away with minor bruising. i also have a 89 300se that a geo ran into me at i think 75 and well his car is totaled and i am driving mine still all it did was bent the fender and the spindle for the tire which has been since fixed. in conclusion im 18 and i love mercedes. if you have a kid that drives find them a older mercedes and put them in it. it will increase ypour chances of them coming home to you.

Mercedes-Benz are great cars if you can get your hands on one!
People like to bad mouth them alot but it`s mostly the people that can`t get one! So go on enjoy your Benz!

I drove Japanese cars for many years but once I drove my buddies Benz I was hooked. It feels like no other car, plenty of power, rock-solid, German engineering. If in an accident I'd rather be in a Benz than a Lexus.

Great cars, Fast, sexy, realible, VERY SAFE, and of course European,

People who can't afford a car like a Mercedes Benz would usally make fun of it, or just lie about its true self being.

It depends what model and year your Mercedes is. Overall most of the Mercedes models are nice but make sure yours is not a lemon as many older ones can have reliability issues, and the repairs can be quite expensive.
