ask a question, but when you ask the teacher you have to use the usted form. They are a teacher and I guess more formal than a friend.

For instance: Tu tienes un lapiz? (asking a friend if they have a pencil)
Ud. tiene un lapiz? (Teacher)

If you ask your teacher where he (or she) comes from, you would simply say, "Where are you from?" And if you asked your friend where he (or she) was from, you would also say, "Where are you from?" but in Spanish, they are a little more formal. Addressing your teacher you would use the respectful form 'usted' (us.) and addressing your friend you would use the informal 'tu'. So what you have to do is think up three questions for your teacher and write them in the formal mode, then rewrite them in the informal mode for your friend.
You could ask questions such as : "Is this your book?" and other fairly simple queries of a similar nature.

Buena suerta.

Ask these questions:

1) Donde vive tu madre ? (where does your mother live?)
2) Donde vive usted? (where do you live?)
3) Usted tiene un perro? (do you have a dog?)
