And they are just trying to sound intelligent by using a 4 syllable word? And don't say "actually, no" ok? It's too easy of a joke.

You've proven the perfect example of idiots who use actually, Veda. And thanks for telling me not to sweat the small stuff- since the guy who wrote that book died at 45 this week. Good advice.

And you are write- communicating an intense and specific emotion in no way let's the reader know what you mean. It's superfluous- dumbass.

I disagree . Actually , it's not such a big word that would make someone try to "sound" intelligent . The word "hate" doesn't add much to a sentence ..Most people don't decide the amount of syllables they'll put into a sentence , beforehand . Don't sweat the small stuff .

There's nothing wrong with people adding superfluous words to their sentences. It makes the sentence more interesting. I suppose you'd prefer newspeak?

Either that or "like" which is a staple here among the youth.
It gets super annoying when they start/ end/ make sentences with the word, "like"=P

That word doesn't bother me at all. I don't like when people use words that don't make any sense in their sentence. People shouldn't use words if they don't understand the meaning.

I have this friend, who uses the word "apparently" in every other sentence. "Apparently, he likes me." "Apparently, she's a b*tch" "Apparently, they're going out now" 99% of the time, she is not talking about something that's apparent! It makes me soooo mad!!

no. it's more an implied idea. you can say "well actuallyyyyy...." and have people know what you mean. or you can waste your time and theirs, and sound really redundant and explain. "well, actually i think that bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla blaaaaa." which one is more efficient- the implied one.
