no, despite disrespectful to those buried there the house is not haunted, if anything the soulds in heaven who were once joined to those bodies may even be looking out for you.

I think the person who lives there would be better equipped to answer that question than anyone on Y!A. Ask them if their home is haunted. I don't 'believe' in ghosts, but I don't discount odd happenings, either.
I live in a funeral home. It was constructed as a funeral home and when the place went out of business, a kitchen was added, a few other changes were made to the overall floor plan and it was rented out as a residence. The house is beautiful with hardwood floors, stained glass windows, big, beautiful arches, wood paneling and torch style lighting on the walls. The rent is cheap and it is right on the main road in my town, so I can walk almost anywhere I need to go within minutes. Who wouldn't want to live here?
I can assure you my home is not haunted. Yes, the lights slowly flicker off and on sometimes, especially toward the back of the house near the old embalming room. However, this is an old house. When I had sparks flying out of my outlets, I called an electrician and found out it was just wired badly. A rational explanation. (tho they haven't figured out why the lights still flicker like that, it's not a fire hazard so I'm not worried) A friend spending the night swore up and down he heard 'someone' walking down my hall. When I quizzed him about this, he admitted he'd been watching horror flicks and drinking beer because he couldn't sleep. So there's rational explanation number two - an overactive imagination fueled by alcohol.
While I consider building on a cemetary a bit disrespectful, I understand that if we didn't build on top of any piece of soil where someone was buried or had died, we'd have nowhre to build. Pay your respects to those who are buried there and then get over it. It's really all you CAN do in a case like that.

Its called a territory haunting by demons:Ghost are demons, demons can take any form, I think God being the almighty would not let the dead hang around, even if they had unfinished business to attend to. Demons are fallen angels and have the same power as Angels do. They like to inhabit places were a traumatic event took place. This is called a territorial stronghold. Usually called hauntings. "Stronghold"-Greek-strong's-fortress, or prison-fortified place. 2 Cor 10:3-5. Remember the story of the Gergesene Demoniacs in Matt 8:28-34. (Mark 5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39) If you’re not religious, you may want to read it. This territory had a stronghold of demons over it, not to mention one man (Personal stronghold-possession) who had a legion of demons in him. Mark 5:9. Jesus freed the man, and in so doing freed the territory of its stronghold/haunting. When the demons went into the swine, the demons did not like the swine, so they drown the swine, this also killed the pigs that the Pagan worshippers used to sacrifice to their God's and killed that business off as well. Jesus healed the land and killed the Pagan worshipping (they used the pigs to sacrifice for food for their god’s) business for a time. M My point is, demons are Ghosts and dead people are not.

Other than being quite disrespectful to the bodies and family of those people who are under there, no it's fine. I don't think you should live in a house over a graveyard because you'll just thin a branch that scratches the window is a dead guy trying to keeeeelllll you and you'd have a heartattack and die so play it safe and live on regular dirt. Word!

Really think about this. Cemeteries, are for the dead period. It is a place of mourning, tears, families loved ones to come and go, and for the recognition of the deceased.
Just think about it, if you died, would you want a home or a grocery store built over your grave with noise, and disturbances. I guarantee it you would NEVER be at peace.
Cemeteries are just that resting places, and should be respected as such.

No, there's no reason why the dead would want to hang around a graveyard anymore than the living. They have better places to go, usually....
