The best tips you can find will be at www.ForTheSinger.com and my advice to you: NEVER listen to classical trained choral trainers! They have a method of their own, and to be honest, their method will ruin your voice. A person above me said to take a deeper breath to hit higher notes, that is VERY wrong! High notes require your vocal chords to zip up, leaving only a small opening which causes the higher pitch so if you blow more air through that small opening then you are just increasing tension! Deeper breaths are required for lower notes when your vocal chords create a larger opening which requires more air flow to get those chords vibrating. Once again, go to www.ForTheSinger.com for professional tips, advice, and exercises! Good Luck!

Always sing from your diaphragm(stomach muscles) and never your throat so you can preserve your voice. Also practice singing with a piano...play a note and sing and match it...this will help you learn pitches!! Another thing to do is to KINDA imitate a singer you like and practice singing along.

Pick a song that fits your tone of voice/something your comfortable with, then practice using "la"s or "ooo"s. Words distract your singng pattern so using la's or ooo's or whatever you may come up with, will help you concentrate on your notes. Remember to sing with confidence and feeling. Also, use your diaphram. When you sing with your throat, you restrain your potential.

are you taking lessons? Cuz that would help a lot! Also, taking up an instrument like piano or guitar to learn more about music itself. Practice breathing techniques!

I was told by a friend who sang well (although I can't sing to save my life) to breath from your stomach and don't smoke either.
