My family (10 of us) are going on vacation to Disney World in about a month. Do you have any suggestions about what parks to go to and where to eat. Also it would really help me out what the weather is like in the middle of January in Florida. Please Help!!

I'd definitely suggest trying to see all four of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. They're all awesome and have different, fun rides and shows. If you're staying for a week or longer, spend one day at each of the four theme parks, a day at one of the water parks (whichever one's open - one will be closed in January for annual refurbishment,) and spend a day at Downtown Disney. If you're not staying that long, just do as much as you can in the time you have.

These are a few of my favorite restaurants: the Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Resort, Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the California Grill atop Disney's Contemorary Resort, the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk, Tony's Town Square at the Magic Kingdom, Le Cellier Steakhouse and the Coral Reef Restaurant at EPCOT, Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano at the Disney (MGM) Studios, the Rainforest Cafe at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, and Bongos Cuban Cafe at Downtown Disney. There's nearly 150 different dining options on Walt Disney World property and all (or most) are wonderful.

Hope I could help! Have fun!

Disney World has four topic parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios) and a couple of water parks (Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon), even as Disneyland simply has two topic parks (Disneyland and California Adventure). Since Disney World has four topic parks, it is sure to have extra rides. However, Disneyland inn does even have a few excellent rides that Disney World does now not have, just like the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Roger Rabbit, Finding Nemo, California Screamin', Goofy's Sky School, Grizzly River Run, Little Mermaid, and Mickey's Fun Wheel. So, Disneyland is not just a smaller variant of Disney World, there is plenty of special stuff. So, if you are a Disney fan who is been to Disney World, Disneyland is valued at trying out as good. Especially when you consider that plenty of individuals will pass to Disney World and can pass to only Magic Kingdom--Disneyland's magic kingdom is larger and greater (and the long-established), so I'd pick to move there if I'm simply going to 1 park.

It depends on the ages of the 10 of you. If you have young kids, Magic Kingdom is pretty much necessary but if they're older, include EPCOT and SeaWorld as well as the entire Universal Studios area. Shopping - I Drive is a good place to go. There's also a wide variety of restaurants on I Drive if you want to leave the theme parks behind for dinner. My favourite restaurant on I Drive is Bahama Breeze but the wait for a table can be horrendous.

As for the weather, it will be rather nice but it depends on what you are used to. You may find it typical January weather if you're from the Southern States but if you're from Canada or the northern states, it will be nice all the time. Let's put it this way, I was a Canadian living in Orlando and I was walking around in open toed shoes and no jacket the entire 9 months I was there (August through to Mid May).

Enjoy your vacation.

I used to work at Disney so I have a few tips that could help you out.

Unconciously, people usually go to the Magic Kingdom first and on Mondays, followed by EPCOT on Tuesdays, MGM Studios on Wednesdays, and then Thursday & Friday its Animal Kingdom and then a hodge-podge of others. Saturday and Sundays are just sort of more busy but that's mostly for the Magic Kingdom.

I really would recommend that for lunch you visit the food carts and pick up a hotdog or something. But for some good dinners (as well as sit down lunches), I would check out MGM Studios and go to the Sci-Fi Cafe and the 50's Diner. Both are very interesting. The Sci-Fi Cafe is like eating at a drive-in while sitting in multicolored Cadallacs and watching movies. The 50's Diner is funny, they yell at you and make you wash your hands and make you finish all of your vegetables. Its very comical.

Breakfasts you'll want to check out character breakfasts especially at the Contemporary at Chef Mickey's. Now if you have a car you can drive there. However if you don't have a car this is how you get there. You take your hotel bus to the Magic Kingdom. From there you'll take the walkway to the Contemporary and cross the hotel.

Have a super time. Try to pack a few snacks in your purse/mini-backpack to hold you over.

I am going down in two weeks, and going with just as many family members! My strategy- all go to the same park and decide who wants to see what- try to hit the big rides/attractions together. But also we do seperate to hit those things that not everyone wants to see.

KEEP in mind- (this is the second time with bigger group) that people walk at different speeds and some people seem like they need to stop frequently- for whatever reason (food, bathroom, distractions). You do loose a lot of time waiting for people (especially if they range in age/abilities) and it can become frustrating.

Best advice- have a game plan of what people want to do and see. Give people time to explore on their own/in smaller groups and then meet up later.

There are so many things to see/do- the easiest thing is to buy a good book (like Bierbaums Guide)- they will describe most all of the things you will see down there.

The weather should be nice- not too hot, not too cold (but the nights can get chilly)

I like disney in january cause the lines are short, its not crowded and its not hot. but the parks close earlier so you really have to plan your day. there are tons of places to eat at disney, depending on your budget. if you want to eat at the disney restaurants, its best to make reservations, called priority seatings at disney. when i was there in october it was impossible to walk in to a rest. without reservations. if you are staying at a disney hotel and have the dining plan, there are even more things to think about.

you might try browsing this site

http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm

some places i like are:

contemporary resort: chef mickey's-buffet with mickey mouse appearance

downtown disney: wolfgang puck cafe (table service)

mgm studios: 50s prime time cafe (table service)

animal kingdom: tusker house (counter service)

epcot: le cellier steakhouse canada (table service)

you have to get a dole pineapple whip in magic kingdom-adventure land i think. its the best thing there.

THE WEATHER ON ORLANDO IN JANUARY IS BEAUTIFUL DURING THE DAY BUT NIGHT TIMES GET REALLY COLD - 35 DEGREES AND PEOPLE DON'T EXPECT THAT.
IF THE KIDS ARE YOUNG, MAGIC KINGDOM, OLDER EPCOT.
UNIVERSAL AND MGM ARE ALSO GREAT AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A LOT OF SPENDING MONEY
