I use Bare Minerals (also known as Bare Escentuals). All of it is in a powder form but not cornstarch based. It is from the pure minerals of the earth. I purchased mine from QVC. They include a video if you buy the initial package which includes brushes, and three shades to try plus another jar called Warmth, and another called Mineral Veil.
This makeup does not work for everyone. My daughter loved the way my face looked but she had a demo on her face and after three hours, she looked terrible. So, depends on your skin, I guess. Before I used the Bare Minerals, I used Clinique products.

I use L'Oreal for foundation, blush, and mascara (Voluminous); Cover Girl for powder (TruMatch) and lipstick; Almay liquid eyeliner; and love experimenting with different brands for lipgloss and eyeshadow. MAC, Ulta and Maybelline all make great lipglosses. NYX, MAC, and Ulta all make great shadows in a ton of colors.
I don't see any reason to be loyal to any one brand- I buy whatever works best for that particular use and love to mix and match!

-Clinique Long Pretty Lashes mascara
-Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss (if you've never tried this, you really should. It's the BEST)

the kind of makeup i use is covergirl. it works. does not irritate my skin and i LOVE it!!! i have tried others and i do not like them.
