When Barbie came out, they had the same issue with her. Some people are never happy and need something to complain about.

I agree with you. However, depending on how influencial the parent is in a child's life, children can interpret dolls like Bratz and Barbie differently. If a child watches Bratz ( on t.v. ) and there is no authoritive figure in their life to them right from wrong, of course children will be influenced wrongly. If the child does have an authoritive figure who teaches morals and important values, the child will understand what is appropriate and what is not. I have watched Bratz many times and I don't think the show is too inappropriate. Every show teaches lessons or good traits like honesty or what it means to be a good friend. These are things that kids go through, and compared to cartoon network shows I've seen, they really aren't that bad.

Girl! You are so right. That doesn't amtter wheather you get those dolls are not. I play with them to and I dress pretty good. just because they are made like that doen't mean anything at all. They are imaginative dolls for young kids. Anyone can play with them. Who ever thinks that they are bad are really dumb. It does matter about how they are raised not about how the dolls dress. The dolls don't tell them it is cool dress like me. So that is a really good story! And anyone who thinks the story is wrong, I don't know who's been telling you right and wrong!

people say they're a bad influence because if the dolls are popular, then not only will girls want to have the doll, they will want to look like the doll. Its for the same reason that movies and video games have ratings. if a girl is mature enough, they'll realize not to dress like that and its ok

Yes they are bad, what your children learn when they are younger do stick with them throught life. Brats promotes everything bad there is. Not all kids can understand that is is just a doll. Have you ever watched even one episode of Brats. Its pure filth. The one episode showed 2 girls making fun of a woman and then another episode showed a girl talking on the phone telling the person who did something to their parents car to just ditch it and lie and say nothing ever happened, like that is really appropriate for young children.

well for your age you're pretty mature but children are children and they seem to just take what the media tells them and put it into action. they want to grow up, a 7 year wants a cellphone and make up.
if you see around, they want to be adults with dyed hair, cellphones, etc. and yes, i have seen that around. children with miniskirts and tops that lie on top of their stomachs.
there has been contraversy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bratz
"Consumers have criticized the Bratz for being "unrealistic" and claim they promote materialism and consumerism. They also criticize the commercials for showing young girls, even babies, wearing revealing clothes and lots of makeup."
"forcing young girls to grow up too soon, and allegedly promoting the idea of sneaking out of the house to go on blind dates with complete strangers."
"Big Babyz have a piece of fabric under their skirts that some feel looks like a thong."
