Why do they make it soo difficult?? Can't they just mind their own business, cos if they did i believe we would get along better with our families?!! Maybe there just looking out 4 us but i think it's best that every individual learns from all their own life experiences and the mistakes they will make along the way!! Don't you think????

Being a mother of 3 grown adults who are all married I try not to involve myself in their personal problems. I can give advice when asked but never ever try to dictate what they do from there. (altho it is a very hard thing to do) and have on occasion stuck my nose in and have learned to move on and I have vowed to leave them to there own vices even tho at times it irks me to no end. I have had inlaws butt into my marriage so I know what that is like.So... I remember that (keeps me in check) hehe As a parent it doesnt matter how old your children are when they hurt you hurt All I can say is let your family members know how you feel

Well, it depends on if the "kid" is still a kid, or if the kid is an adult. Since I've become an adult, my parents have pretty much gone with the attitude of "she's an adult, let her figure it out on her own." But, I'm very much involved in my kids (minor children) personal lives, they do not yet have the maturity and experience to make some decisions on their own yet. I believe a good parent will allow their child to make decisions on their own as they grow older, because that's how a child will learn. There's a saying I like: "parents give their children 2 things, 1 is roots, the other is wings."

So you think that parents should let you make you make your own decisions and learn the hard way, is that it?
And who pays if you get in really bad trouble? Do you think you're the only one who does? Not so. You get in trouble, and the parents get a share of the blame for not raising you right! You could even be removed from your home.
They keep a roof over your head, feed you, clothe you, so, yes, unless, and until you become an adult, capable of making your own way, your parents have a right to "stick their nose in your business.".
I like the first answer above. She sounds like a smart lady!!

No, we are all still going to make mistakes no matter how much our parents tell us the right thing to do. And years down the road, you will think back on that advice. Be thankful you have a family that cares. You can still do your own thing.. make your own mistakes, but hear the words because someday you will make a connection with them...

They dont stick noses, they care for you. I dont agree with you. Its way cheaper to learn than to make mistake. If you have a mistake having "personal life" with drug addicts and similar youngster with AIDS then you wont have a second chance.

Respect your parents and see that they love you

Stay cool

Because it's our job. And yes I do think that my children should learn from their own mistakes but it is my job to point out when they don't
