When faulty (what can happen easily) must replace the whole ECU. Can I buy only the sensor and replace it (it is soldered on the board).

The main problem is that on A class the ECU is mounted on the intake air track and the MAF is part of it. So, you can not be replace only the sensor, must replace the whole ECU. I'm looking for the manufactorer of the MAF sub block (which will cost a portion of the whole unit). Or, can I buy another MAF and use only the sensor from it?
