Nearly all good Christmas songs are carols, and oldies by the likes of Slade (Merry Xmas Everybody), Mud (Lonely this Christmas), Wizzard (I wish it could be Christmas everyday), Bing Crosby (White Christmas), Shakin' Stevens (Merry Christmas Everyone) and Elton John (Step into Christmas). Most songs that have come out at Christmas in recent years have nothing to do with Christmas at all, and until someone comes up with a good Christmas-related song, the old songs will continue to be the best and most popular.

I like What Child is This when it is a female singer and Little Drummer Boy with a male voice but there are great contemporary Christmas songs too. For instance So this is Christmas by the Beatles and Father Christmas by the Kinks.

Oh, God. There are so many!! White Christmas by The Drifters, Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee, Run Run Rudolf by Chuck Berry, Baby Its Cold Outside by Bing Crosby, Blue Christmas by Elvis, The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, Jingle Bells by Ella Fitzgerald, Jingle Bells by Frank Sinatra...and those are just a few of the classics. The 'A Very Special Christmas' albums are all good if your looking for newer artists. I love Christmas carols...
