President Andrew Johnson crushed by the Constitution. Can someone please help me with the significance of this

President Andrew Johnson revered the U.S. Constitution but eventually felt its awesome weight in his impreachment trial. Why is this important. What was going on between Johnson and Congress?

Nothing was going on with Congress, Johnson just wasn't eating his Wheaties. He never had a problem holding up the Constitution before, but his health deteriorated drastically after he stopped eating his fruits and vegetables. Not to mention the fact he was skipping out on breakfast.

Unfortunately, the Constitution weighed more than Johnson could handle. He was crushed because he wasn't using the "buddy system" technique we often use for heavy objects.

Do me a favor: Drop out of school now. Your teachers can't reach you if you don't put the work in yourself.

You can quote me in your paper if you'd like. Peace out, Comrade.

There are many levels not to say the least that his unconstitutional act had to do with how we treated the Native American People. See, A lot of the tribes (which were nations in and of themselves and why one tribe couldn't neccessarily speak for another) got together and took to court Andrew "Stonwall" Jackson's policy of Manifest Destiny which basically aid that it was the United State's right to take over the continent of North America and force the American Indians off or into reservations.

Needless to say this case made it all the way to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Indians. Jackson in turn desided to claim executive privilege and ignore the supreme court (sound familiar?) and carry it out anyways. This enraged the justices and they atempted an impeachment.

This affected things from consstitutional law all the way to the Indians conditions today.

I know I rambled but does that explain a bit?
