Both excellent performances and actors; however, since Norton's role was much longer in "Primal Fear", I'd have to go with his - he had to play "multiple roles" in his one role - and considering it was the first movie he ever acted in is incredible!

I´m going to have to say Edward Norton in Primal Fear. Kevin Spacey was good in Seven but Ed Norton´s performance was better.

One cannot compare the performances as neither of them had done the other. Both Edward Norton and Kevin Spacey are fantastic actors, but they would've had to play the same role in order to determine which was better.

I agree that Spacey is an amazing actor and if the choice had been his performance in USUAL SUSPECTS I would have had to consider the answer in more depth.
But in this case I would have to say that Norton's freshman performance in PRIMAL FEAR was far more chilling and unexpected than Spacey in SE7EN...

If you have not seen any of these movies I Highly recommend all three...

Edward Norton. Now if you would have said, Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects, I would say Kevin Spacey.
