Yes it is time to quit. We all deserve and have the right to work in a non hostile environment. You cannot avoid it entirely because people have their problems, but if it is a constant and overwhelming situation then it is probably time for a change. Before you switch jobs though you might consider talking to the higher ups and telling them how you feel. One gossip in a company can spoil the whole crew.

You spend one third of your life at your job, you NEED to happy there, Quit, it's not worth it at all.
I wouldn't go to superiors, it's not going to get any better if you report a problem, it will make it more uncomfortable. HOWEVER, after I quit I would write the most CHOICE letter to the president CC it to many other company officials and name names too! Be a snitch, people like that do not deserve to be in a supervisory position.
I was treated very bad at a job once, the place is called
LAKE TAHOE ACCOMMODATIONS (Vacation rental place)
She, LYNETTE a psychotic negative B***h, made my life hell the short time I was there. She rolled her eyes at me, she was condescending, she talked behind my back. I took the job even though it was way below my job skills, I went from $17.00 an hour to $8.75 an hour, when she interview me I asked for $12.00 and hour (she acted shocked) Turns out she only makes that. I was fired before I could quit, She stated that I was unable to grasp the simplest of tasks! Unbelievable, I was in a state of shock.
I have to mention, this woman carried a separate purse for her head meds. She would walk in the office in the morning exclaiming "I am so sick of my husbands drug use!!!"
Nice...

I had this happen to me in my last job...I was a supervisor but was being sexually harassed by a subordinate, who was going around behind my back and spreading rumors about me. When I reported this to my boss, he then set out to make MY life a living hell! I was stripped of my rank and was being forced to work a shift I refused to work...all the while the guy who was harassing me? HE got to keep his job without any recriminations. I had had enough and I actually walked off the job site and never went back! It sucked being out of work, but the stress I left behind was well worth it!

always get a job with people you can be positive to, the most important is that you love your job and that you have good not sexual though relations with your boss. its never happened to me but i did take a class that tells you all about it. i would recommend that you quit and find a better job. and don't forget to tell your workers that they are future hamburger flippers and kiss my shiny metal ***. oh yeah and supervisors should be working towards a good work enviroment, their making the company lose business, people come to work for work and not to be negative, if they want to be that way they should have stayed at home.

Well, I understand that you have reasons to feel bad at work, but I think you may be exaggerating. I mean people talk behind your back no matter who you are, you're not the only one. But if you really feel that your efforts are not appreciated or that their value is diminished by your superiors on purpose you should quit. In your place I would try harder to make myself heard and liked, but if I would be positive that those negative behaviours have no reasons and cannot be changed, I would quit eventually. You deserve better.

We're in the same boat bud.
They stole our bonuses and pensions, make us pay more for insurance every year, give raises that don't even cover the cost of living, promote alcoholic back stabbers because they are on the friends and family list, and generally stick it up our 4ss and expect us to like it.
It wasn't this way till the recent bunch of lying, theiving, greedy b4st4rds took over.
I have to support my family and can't throw away 21 years of senority YET.

I think you should find a better job and then go in and tell them you quit and you have a new job 50 times better than this one and if you are really successful, then you can rub it in their faces.
