Extremely cold, bodies left there from the first climbers are still there, in excellent condition
Extremely high, must carry your own oxygen to the top
Extremely windy, tents and equipment have to be staked and tied down
Extremely steep, need to tie yourself down to sleep near the top.

besides the fact that the wintry temperature can drop to as low as negative 40 degrees, it is also because of the extremely thin air mass, which means less oxygen to breathe, since mt. everest is at a very high altitude of about 30000 ft above sea level. that is typically as high as most airplanes fly at. compared with the air mass at sea level, the oxygen is only approximately 30% as concentrated.

Not enough oxygen in teh air.. you see the higher you go .. teh less oxygen there is .. less consentration .. and before you can climb a tall mountain like that you have to excersise .. make sure your body is capable of handling sitioations where you have low oxygen levels .... ie by that .. u have to increase teh amount of blood cells in your body so you can survive is such atmoshere. it takes months to do that .. and not everyone is capable of doing that.

It is cold, there's very little oxygen so you have to carry tanks, it is cold, and it's dangerous.
Wait, I said cold twice... ah well, emphasizes my point. :D
Quite frankly, I don't see why people bother... save the money and help a person in need!
