i live in california and had a judgement put against me for about $3,500 for a child support. i do not pay child supprt on a reg basis it was just for a one time payment for something that had happend. they took my license for non payment. can ii get my license if i move to another state? (im not moving to bail out on the judgement i am moving for housing)

No,not until you settle the judgment.I lost my license from CT,because of an unpaid ticket in CA. It took 2+ years to get it back.

The only answer I have is my experience with a client in my mental health clinic who complained that one State, maybe like Illinois or Indiana, took his license away for DWI or somesuch, and he moved to Arizona and they required he fill out some form requesting information from Indiana or such, and he didn't do it, and then he went to North Carolina and tried the same and they turned him down and then here he came to Texas and tried it, and, upon my contacting Arizona and Indiana (I believe it was), they said all he had to do was fill out some form for information to be available to each successive State he kept applying for a license, and then he would get his license IF there was no felony or somesuch against him. He never signed the "Release of Information" forms for that purpose so he didn't get his license renewed in Texas either. I know my answer had nothing to do with non-payment of child support, and nothing to do with California, but I was just thinking out loud to see if something of my experience might be of help to you, but, I'm not sure. no its going to follow you where ever you go and you can thank the world of computers for that it was a pony and time when you could beat the sytem but the internet world can sometimes be our enemy my cusin just tried it

no they check with other states now for all that information.
