If you are talking about points and levels on this site (especially in terms of levels of use) then answering is far better. Once you reach the level of being able to ask as many as you like, than asking is likely more useful, as I find myself asking tons of stuff out of idle curiousity and for pure fun. I still try to answer a fair amount, to both keep my points up and see if I can get some best answers, but I do find myself answering far less these days.

Answering because it helps me more than asking and sometimes by answering I find out more than by asking.

I think answering is better for me because I have so many questions to pick from and asking is a pain because you have to pick a best answer and you get all these emails. Happy Holidays!! :)
